Te Anau / Milford Sound Activities

The main reason we overnight in Te Anau is for the Milford Sound cruises just 2 hours away – along one of the best alpine drives in the world. Leave early to miss the midday crowds. Doubtful Sound Cruise is also an option but will take up the whole day. If you don’t fancy a cruise, there are plenty of lovely local wanderings to be had, including the intriguing Glow Worm Caves, with our overnight stay of Queenstown just 2 hours back.
